The burnisher was provided by John Neal booksellers to demonstrate an easy method of determining whether the burnisher is or is not a true Hemaitite.. We used the face of the burnisher. It is recommended that for testing one should use the side of the burnisher and not the face. The chemistry does not lie.
Either it is or it is not ! During the mid eighties into the early 90s forgeries claming to be true Hematites were imported into the US and sold as real.
I developed a simple procedure as the video shows, so far this person no longer imports anything or is even in the Calligraphy business.... Good riddance to her !
