When the gesso is prepared THE RIGHT WAY, it can be diluted using water, to accommodate a variety of instruments. In the above demo I was using a C1 nib. It was diluted with a few extra drops of water until it would flow easily through the nib. I also enjoy using other tools such as brushes, ruling pens, and larger type poster pens. I have no limitations. I can use a thin gesso as a base, and feed into it with a thicker gesso. Or just use the same gesso and feed into it, as the demo showed. The key lies in the preparation of the gesso. If the formula is prepared correctly, you can dilute the gesso considerably without any loss or disruption to the foundation of the gesso.
